Orange Chicken

I found this recipe on a blog (I can't remember which one) and it was really good

Orange Chicken

12 Chicken tenders
3 eggs
1/2 C cornstarch
1/2 C flour
sprinkle of garlic salt
oil
1/4 C chicken broth
1/2 C Vinegar
3/4 C Sugar
1TBSP Soy Sauce
4 TBSP Ketchup

Dip chicken in eggs then in cornstarch, flour, and garlic salt mixture. Then fry in oil. After chicken is fried place the chicken in a baking dish. Boil in a pan the broth, vinegar, soy sauce, and ketchup. Pour over the chicken in the baking dish and bake at 350 for 45minutes to 1 hour. Serve over rice.

(I used apple cider vinegar, but I think next time I will try white vinegar, I could taste the apple cider vinegar) The sauce didn't look like there was very much so I doubled it and I didn't need to there was plenty of sauce without doubling it. This will be a recipe we will have every now and again :)

Organizing

I was looking through my stuff last night, looking for ideas for J's birthday! I found lots of fun projects that I have ripped out of magazines and notes I have jotted down, but I never can find them when I want to do them or just forget that I have them. SO I thought for the next little while that I will scan in all my ideas and post them here for a little more organization in my life, and so that we can all use them! So if you have a cute Halloween, valentine, etc ideas go in and add to my post. I am going to try and organize it by holidays, crafts, party ideas. This first one was just a try to see if my scanning worked and if you could pull them up big size. So if you have any cute ideas please add!!!

For some reason I crave the organization!

Weddings over!!!

Yeah the wedding is over now we can use this blog for all the cute things we find on the internet!!! Like baby stuff for Missy to make for Debbie :) Just teasin but here are some cute blogs that I have stumbles across lately.

Here is a calendar that I think you have been looking for Missy and the one I was telling you about Jana. It is on littlenannygoat.blogspot She drew the calendar on but I think if you knew someone that cut vinyl that would work too. Plus I wonder if you painted the backing of the frame (under the paper) with magnetic paint then you could hang things on the frame???

The other blog I found is for nursery coloring pages- I thought they would be good to use for Family Home Evenings for our little kiddos or just whenever one of you gets called to the nursery :)

brownies

I got an email from betty crocker and she just so happen to be makin star shaped brownies! This will work perfectly for the hearts for the reception!

1box (1 lb 6.5 oz) Betty Crocker® Original Supreme brownie mix (with chocolate syrup pouch)

Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
1/2cup Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting (from 12-oz container)

Betty Crocker® Decorating Decors stars

1.Heat oven to 350°F. Line 13x9-inch pan with foil so foil extends about 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray. Make and bake brownies as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan, using water, oil and eggs. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
2.Remove brownies from pan by lifting foil; peel foil from sides of brownies. Using 2 1/2-inch star-shaped cookie cutter, cut brownies. Place frosting in resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Cut off one bottom corner of bag. Pipe frosting on star-shaped brownies. Sprinkle with decors.

Here it is

We can change the fonts to what ever you want and tomorrow I will work on one with the parents names at the bottom and the names in blue. Sorry Di the pink looked terrible :(

just paper

this is paper that you can choose for backgrounds also!

Round 2

I got some new paper so let me know what you think of these!

This one the picture would be the other way- I just didn't have a picture that was long ways-so the picture will be on the bottom!
Missy and I thought this one would be good if the pictures were turned the other way and the wording went down over the flowers & leaves! So you have 3 pictures going down the side hmm

I think this was needs to be a tad smaller so that you can see more of the green background!

This is just another paper to chose from :)

So please don't laugh but I will totally understand if you all think its not good enough! So the first few are different things you could do. The dots are what the cake would look like without the pearl dust. I didn't have any colored fondant so you just have to use your imagination! Also there are not any swirls because they weren't working and I got too tired to figure it out. But I can do it if you still want! Also the cake looks a little uneven from me moving it to that platter that is not meant for squares!
So this first one was the imprint of my candle and I just wanted to see what it would look like!

In the dark!
Up close

The dark spot on the cake is the actual cake. My fondant was running low so it had to be thin!

Check out this Cake :)

Its not the best I scanned it from a tiny magazine picture!
Do you guys like the black swirls with the pink ribbon? Or do we still just go with the black ribbon like the cake on the older post?

Rough drafts of invites

the bottom 2 are my favorites!!!This one needs some serious help and work!!!

This one I would like better if I could get the page to turn the other way so that it is up and down instead of long way.
This one is just ugly!
Either of these 2 are my most favorites we can also tweek the color to black and pink on the bottom one!

Swirl Pattern

This is the pattern I am going to try and use for the cake

Rice Crispy treat

I was watching "Everyday Food" on Pbs and they had a trick for rice crispy treats to not stick to pan and be able to get out of pan. Spray a 10-by-15-inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Line with waxed paper; spray paper with cooking spray Then you put the rice cripy's in the pan and push down with a spatula sprayed with cooking spray. Let set for about an hour. Then you pull the rice crispy treats out by the wax paper and flip over. Then you pill off the wax paper and cut into 24 bars (3 rows lengthwise by 8 rows crosswise).
